Who is Harrison Remy?

My name is Mason Turner.  I was in my 22nd year when I met Harrison Remy who was in his 80th year.  Harrison is a feisty man, a diligent man, and a candid man.  He can cry at the drop of a hat and within seconds recover with words that can take you to a whole different level or depth in thinking.  Harrison feels and he doesn't hide what he feels.  He is deeply aware of every experience of his life and has an uncanny perception of others.

I am about to take you on a journey through the life of Harrison Remy.  All too often in his life "victim" could have described him.  But what Harrison did with that word and the connotation behind it is nothing less than extraordinary.

I invite you to step back and experience a journey through the eyes of a man that will make you laugh hysterically, love deeply, cry sincerely and most of all, with any hope, make you look at the lives of others and your responsibility to this world a little differently.

"A large part of my life was hell, but my eternity was going to be hell if I didn't claim my life and my responsibility to it.  The things I have accomplished in my life are not mine; they are the works of the universe, regardless of how you define that.  I was aware that I had a responsibility in my life TO life not to MY life.  We, as a whole are meant to celebrate our gift of life. Too often we are complaining about it and ignoring the very essence that makes life a gift.  Why would we ever expect to be rewarded in the future if we are constantly complaining about the present?"  Harrison once said.

I spent one year with Harrison, submersed in his life.  The story on these pages is comprised of the experiences of a man that could have given up so many times.  He didn't give up.  He got busy and lived and breathed every day to insure that no one else would have to experience what he had.  His story is about to be told and this website is just an introduction to the life he lived and is living.  Welcome to Harrison's world - welcome to Harrison's story.
